One way to give the exterior of your home a new and exciting look is by painting it. No single move can add so much awe as an exterior well painted. Be it wood, aluminum siding, hardi plank, masonite and yes, even vinyl siding; a fresh coat of paint can yield splendid results. But there are a few pointers I would like to give you before you grab the old ladder and head out. I have been in the home improvement business for almost a quarter of a century and I got my start by painting the exterior of homes in a small town. PREPARATION

I can’t begin to stress the importance of preparation… and just what is preparation? Preparation is taking the necessary time and effort to make sure the substrate (your house surfaces) have been properly prepared to receive primer and paint. It is always advisable that they decide on the completion of the project time in addition to many other things which are required to be planned. Incase the project is not completed on time then the owners can save some amount on the association costs.

It should be understood that there are many contractors who charge 5 – 7% less incase they do not complete the project on time. One tip which can prove to be beneficial is that workers are more efficient and productive in winter than summer. Purchase your materials ahead because last moment purchases can force you to pay more money because of the urgency of its requirement. Avoid up gradations because they seem to be small when the decision is made, but this will definitely boost your cost higher.

Decide on your budget earlier:

In the excitement to remodel your home, many people just skip the most important part of the process that is failure to form a budget for home remodeling process. The budget should contain the information about the costs of the materials and areas of expense about which costs they are aware about. You probably need to gather information about the various estimates and quotes from the different contractors and then you can probably decide on the choice of your contractors. At the minimum compare five estimates.
